I took this photograph on January 10, 2022, at Willard Bay, Utah, during one of those magical winter evenings when the world seems to pause. The temperature was freezing, yet the light was extraordinary — soft, golden, and alive. A small wave had frozen mid-arrival, as if time itself had decided to stand still at the water’s edge.
What captivated me most was the way the last rays of sunlight turned the icy surface into a glowing orange reflection, so warm it could easily be mistaken for summer. Despite the biting cold, I remember feeling an incredible sense of peace — that perfect stillness that only winter can bring.
This image became a quiet reminder of how beauty can disguise itself, even in the coldest moments.
