On October 2, 2022, I set out on a hike that would test both my endurance and my love for photography. The trail from Tony Grove Lake to White Pine Lake is only 3.8 miles, but with the weight of my gear and the steady, imperceptible incline, every step demanded patience. What looked flat at times revealed itself to be far more challenging, and I often had to pause to catch my breath.
Three hours later, I finally stood at the edge of White Pine Lake. The crisp fall air, the silence of the mountains, and the reflection of light on the water made every effort worth it. The return journey was unexpectedly demanding, reminding me that exploration always comes with both joy and challenge.
This photograph, for me, is not just about the view — it’s about the resilience it takes to get there. It’s about finding beauty after the climb and holding on to the memory of achievement.
